Not so unlike the Apostle Paul, our Dad, fought a good fight, he finished the race and remained faithful. Now the prize awaits him – the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give him on that great day of his return.

Clyde W. Graves, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.

Clyde was born April 4, 1925 in Sumner County, TN to the late Vernon Graves and Maggie (Wix) Phelps. In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ella Marie (Bogard) Graves; his step-mother, Beatrice; brother, J.R. Graves and by his son-in-law, Jerry Duckworth.

Surviving Clyde are two daughters, Pat Duckworth and Pam Tieken and her husband Bill, both of Evansville; six grandchildren, Helen (Marc) Schnarr, Jeff Neisz, Andrea Tieken, Nicholas (Katie) Tieken, Megan (Kyle) Arnold and Sarah (David) Jones; fourteen great grandchildren, Taylor Lockhart, Mason, Mitchell and Carter Schnarr, Ella and Tegan Neisz, Tim Kratochvil, Alison Tieken, Ellie and Evan Arnold, Chance, Sean and Kennedy and Miles Jones; by two great great grandsons, Hayden and Hudson Simmons; and by six sisters, Bonnie Henderson, Joe Ann Durham, Betty (Gene) Heath, Shirley Clark, Shelby Hall and Carol (Tony) Bentle. Also surviving Clyde are a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Clyde attended Cathedral of Praise until his health no longer permitted him to do so. He was a self-employed floor covering contractor for over 50 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eagles, Owls and Haymakers.

Funeral services for Clyde will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Pierre Funeral Home, Stacy Schultz and Pastor Bobby Pell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
