Curtis' employment with United Airlines brought him to Seattle in 1989. He later met Julie Dunnwald; the two were married in 1999. He was an Account Executive for Insight, Telepsychiatry.
Curtis was passionate about his family. He loved to travel with them around world, exploring different cultures. He also had affinity for the Northwest. He was happiest when he was with his family camping, hiking, and skiing in the mountains that he loved, or simply sitting on the front porch connecting with nature that surrounded him.
A kind and generous person, Curtis' gentle spirit has left an indelible mark on those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Quinlan and Gaia; and siblings Jann (and Don) Homer, Dallas, TX; Barbara (and Rick) Plewe, Salt Lake City UT; John Gray, Denver, CO; and many adoring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rivers and Evadeane.
The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, to please offer memorials to a school that will be built in a third world country in his honor (https://act.buildon.org/fundraise?fcid=740097).
A celebration of Curtis' life will be held on Saturday, August 27th, at Mary, Queen of Peace in Sammamish, WA. Visitation will be between the hours of 11:30 AM - 1:15 PM. The memorial service will begin at 1:30 PM, followed by a gathering at the family home. Private burial will be at Fillmore City Cemetery in Fillmore, UT.
