Susie D. (Glass) Sheaffer-Peppler, 96, of Ford City, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at Pine View Personal Care Facility in Parks Township. A daughter of the late Albert E. Glass and Emma (Arner) Glass, she was born March 17, 1920, in Gilpin Township. Susie was a homemaker and tax collector for Bethel Township. She was a member of the Cochrans Mill United Methodist Church in Burrell Township. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards. Survivors include her son, Victor Sheaffer (Karen), of Burrell Township; a stepdaughter, Grace Riley (Jerry), of Georgia; three grandchildren, David Sheaffer (Melissa), Amy Clever, and Angela Thiel (Charles); three great-grandchildren, Alexander Sheaffer, Lily Clever, and Parker Thiel; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Sheaffer; her second husband, Oliver Peppler; a daughter, Gloria Fay Clever; and a stepson, Dwight Peppler; four brothers, James, Elmer, William R. and Franklin Glass; five sisters, Nellie Glass, Bertha Artman, Violet Brown, Ethel Fierst, and Minnie Klingensmith. Friends welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at CLAWSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg (724-842-1051), where funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Ernest F. DeLuca officiating. Interment following at Evergreen Cemetery, 620 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Township.
