Jessica Rose Wilson Hoan, age 41 of Green Forest, Arkansas passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri.

The daughter of Edith "Edie" Leonard was born July 16, 1975 in Hyattsville, Maryland.

She is survived by her mother, Edie Leonard and her husband Leroy of Harrison; three daughters, JoAnna Rose Wilson of Harrison, Roselyn Marie Wilson of Green Forest and Alexis Paige Torres of Florida; her son, David Wayne Wilson of Harrison; her brother, Brian Leonard of Harrison; her sister, Dixie Marshall and her husband Thomas of Bellefonte; two grandchildren, Braxton Wilson and Silas Rangel; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Jessica faced some challenging situations early on in her life that caused some emotional pain which led her to take substances as a coping mechanism. Although the drugs granted her temporary freedom to feel the pain, they slowly carried her into captivity. In the battle to control her addiction, Jessica experienced strained relationships with those that were closest to her. She was driven by her own needs which made it very difficult to be the mother that she wanted to be. Jessica was the most selfless when she became a grandmother to Braxton and Silas.

Life is all about our relationships and substance abuse robs us from having healthy relationships. Many times what we think will bring us life only brings us death. Tragically, Jessica's life was cut short by the lie of substance abuse.

Jesus is the true Substance that we need to heal us from all our emotional pain He promised that whoever would come to Him would never be rejected and would truly experience a relationship that will save them in life and in death. (John 11:25)

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Harrison with Pastor Heath Kirkpatrick officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leonard family funeral fund at www.woodlandheights.org or mailed to Woodland Heights Church, 515 S. Locust, Harrison, Arkansas, 72601.
