Ada B. (Jackson) Ballard, 80, passed away August 24, 2016 at 8:51p.m. at Silver Springs in Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Saturday August 27, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Rev. Scott Kirkland, Pastor of Trinity Baptist in Big Spring, TX offciating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening, Friday August 26, 2016 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. The daughter of Christopher and Louella (Caire) Jackson, she was born September 23, 1935 in Redding, OK. Ada later lived in Wichita Falls, TX where she met and married William A. Ballard. In 1964 they moved to Abilene which became their home. We came to realize how strong she really was after this long fight for life. She was devout in her Christian belief. Ada loved her cookie jars and other collectibles. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William Ballard; a son, Daniel Ballard; and a grandson, James Schmidt. Survivors include three children, Robin Ballard of Wichita Falls; Louann Schmidt of Abilene, and William Ballard, Jr. of Temple; five grandchildren, April O'Shea of Williamburg, IL, Christian Gonzales of Las Vegas, NV, Teri Biscamp of Wichita Falls, TX, Kimberly Guillory of Wichita Falls, TX, and Christopher Schmidt of Abilene; and twelve great-grandchildren.
