John Brehm, aged 86, one of the pioneer settlers of the northeastern psrt of the county and also one of the most widely known and best farmers of that community died early Saturday at his home. Funeral services will be held at the Harvey Chapel Monday at two p.m. then burial will be in Carey cemetery near Strawtown. Friends may call at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Kearney Mundell anytime until the hour of the service. Other children besides Mrs. Mundell who survive are a son John H. Brehm, and a daughter, Mrs. Harmon Frye, all of White River township. The deceased lost his wife five years ago. The arrangements are in charge of E.J. Harris funeral home of Cicero. The deceased was the last of five children born to Conrad Brehm and wife, Elizabeth Boher Brehm, both of whom were born in Germany and both of whom are deceased. He spent all of his life in that section of Hamilton county and was a sucessful farmer, member of Harvey Chapel Church and supported the church liberally. He was born Dec. 7, 1854 in the township and lived all his life in the vicinity of Walnut Grove. His marriage to Miss Octavia Webb took place at Cicero, March 28, 1878 and her death occured in 1936. The deceased was closely related to the widely known Brehm family.
