Cora Hazel DeSalvo passed away from complications of COPD and bronchitis on March 4, 2008. Cora was born Sept. 1, 1920 in Bedford, England to Frances and Reginald Ward and met the man of her dreams, Dominick, serving in the US Army Air Corps, at a dance. They courted and married just prior to Dominick being shipped off to Morocco for six months.

After the end of the war, they were transferred "stateside" and called a number of Air Force bases "home" until Dominick retired in 1968 and settled in Kirkland, WA. Cora donated much of her time to volunteer jobs in the church and at a local food bank. In 1994, Cora and Dominick moved from Kirkland and retired in the beautiful Silver Glen Senior living condominiums in Bellevue.

Cora had a love of life and of all God's creations including great English cooking! She took to the computer her son Duane gave her in 1997 like a duck to water and faithfully sent out a Christmas letter each year which included some of her favorite jokes. These letters and her smile and wonderful sense of humor will be sorely missed by all.

Cora is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dominick, her son, Duane and his wife, Toni. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 105 State St South in Kirkland on Saturday March 15th at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in her name to the Seattle Union Gospel Mission, 3800 South Othello Street, Seattle, WA 98118
