In the Grace car beside Mr. Grace were his wife and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Mulvaney and two children all of Florence. Mrs. Scott who is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Duell, was driving her car in which were the two Duell children, William and Chester, and Mr. and Mrs. Duell. In some manner
the two autos came together and Mr. Grace was thrown from the car, his head striking the pavement. He was instantly killed. All of the occupants in the Grace car were badly bruised and cut, but those in the Scott car were not seriously hurt.
Coroner H. J. Teller of Rome was called and ordered Grace's body taken to the Sanborn undertaking parlors. The injured were treated at Dr. Allison's office.
An inquest will be held this afternoon at the Rome Court House.
James Grace was born in Florence May 16, 1882, son of the late John and Alice Riley Grace. He followed the occupation of farming and also carpentering.
Surviving are his wife, who was Helen Kopsconic, and one son about three years of age; two brothers, John of Syracuse, and Thomas of New York city, three sisters, Mrs. John Barker of Osceola, Mrs. James Phillips of Oriskany, and Mrs. Orville Jones of Baldwin Park, Ca.
