Joy Michelle Brock, age 54, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at her home.
She was born January 31, 1962 at Garnett, Kansas. Joy was the second of three children born to Jim and Joyce (Sturm) Buckley. Joy graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1980.
She married Joel L. Wight on December 24, 1983. This union was blessed with three children. They later divorced. She then married David Alan Brock on September 2, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joy was a lifetime resident of the Garnett area and worked for various local businesses. She had spent the last ten years working for ATC Truck Covers. She was currently the shipping/receiving manager in Ottawa, Kansas.
She was a member of the Garnett V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #6397. Joy loved to go shopping, shooting pistols with her friends, watching the Chiefs, Royals, and KU games. She loved to tend to her flower bed and garden. Her favorite holidays were the 4th of July and Christmas, because of the time spent her with family. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.
Joy was preceded in death by husband, David Alan Brock on September 26, 2015.
She is survived by her son, Josh Wight and wife Nicole of Richmond, Kansas; two daughters, Jill Hermreck and husband Chris, Grace Wight, all of Garnett, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Whitney and Payton Wight, Rylan Ava, and Everly Hermreck, Ivy and Baby Evalyn Davis; parents, Jim and Joyce Buckley of Garnett, Kansas; sister, Jeanette Gadelman of Welda, Kansas; and one brother, Jeff Buckley of Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, with burial following in the Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
