Mrs. Jane L. Heater

Jane L. Heater, wife of David Heater, died at her home on the corner of Avenue I. and Fifth street, Matamoras, at 12:20 on Thursday p.m., June 14 of acute Bright's disease, after an illness of four days, aged 67 years.

Deceased was born at Rosetown, near Matamoras, May 10, 1839, and was the daughter of Jonathan Middaugh and Sarah Strader. She was a resident of Port Jervis a number of years and became a member of the M. E. Church.

On January 29, 1860, she was united in marriage with David Heater, of Matamoras. After their marriage they settled in Matamoras and had since resided there.

Mrs. Heater was an affectionate mother and seldom left her home to which she was deeply attracted.

She was the mother of 11 children, of whom only three survive, the greater number passing away in their youth.

She is survived by three daughters, Clara, wife of Frank Van Norstrand, of Rosendale, N. Y.; Elva, wife of William J. Bosler, of Sawkill, Pa.; and Lillian at home. Also by two brothers, John T. Middaugh, of New Milford, Pa.; and Simeon Middaugh, of Hoadleys, Pa., one sister, Maria Kuhn, widow of Henry Kuhn, of Rosendale, N. Y.; also by two grandchildren.
