Edmund Delaney Carpenter Jr, 81, of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013.
Ed was born on March 12, 1931 in St. Louis, mo. He moved to Dallas in 1940. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and then graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory school in 1948. Ed was a 1952 alumni of the University of North Texas. He was retired from Continental Emsco Oilfield Supply after 33 years of service. Ed enjoyed his retirement by working at Avis part time. He was a longtime faithful member of Mary Immaculate church in Farmers Branch, TX Ed was generous, dependable and always optimistic. He loved animals and was an avid sports fan. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Marie Carpenter. Survivors include his beloved daughter and son in law Mary and Duncan Rogers of Houston, TX: one sister, Ellen and George Lyons of Dallas, TX: one brother John carpenter of Dallas, TX: two grandchildren, Jackie Yantes and Daniel Glassco of Tulsa, OK: and four great grandsons, Brayden, Grant, Jaxon and Maverick Yantes of Longview, TX. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM with a Rosary to begin a 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Thursday Calvary Hill North Chapel with Rev. Michael Forge officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memorium to Ed can be made to Smile Train at smiletrain.org
