Mary Anne Pennington, 56, of Oneida, passed away December 8, 2006, at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville. Born November 12, 1950, she was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Watson; two infant sons, Brent Norris Pennington and John Thomas Pennington; one brother, Jimmy Lee Watson; father-in-law, Dan D. Pennington; and brother-in-law, William Arthur Pennington. She attended and graduated from Norma High School in 1968, after which she enrolled at Tennessee Tech. Through her career, she worked at West Coal Corporation, owned and operated Pennington Insurance Agency, and retired from Highland Telephone Corporation. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and a member of Sunshine Chapter #279 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her father, Johnny Lee Watson; her husband, Danny D. Pennington, Jr., of Oneida; one son, Danny Duff Pennington, II, and wife, Jessica; two special grandchildren; mother-in-law, Kathleen Pennington; sisters-in-law: Joyce Watson, Gloria Lyle and husband, Terry, Marsha Pennington Keeton, and Kathy L. Pennington; brothers-in-law: James C. Pennington, Sr., and wife, Sandy, and Patrick N. Pennington; nieces and nephews: Stacey Helvey, Carmen Watson, Carrie Thompson, Heather D’Alessandro, Megan Pennington, Pilar Pennington, Shawn Watson, James C. Pennington, Jr., Marvin Dustin Pennington, Sr., and Timothy Lyle; four great-neices, two great-nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted December 11, at Norma Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Smith and Rev. Roger Cecil officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Memorial Gardens. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
