He was born November 26, 1935 in Philadelphia, MS to the late Mr. Frank and Mrs. Angie Steele. He was a member of Solomon Temple AME Zion Church serving as a Trustee, in the Mass Choir and a member of Pride of Pascagoula #485.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Steele, daughter Wanda Hawkins, parents, Frank and Angie Steele, three brothers, Walter, Willie L., and Les Steele and sister, Essie Steele.
Mr. Floyd Steele leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Jeffery (Barbara) Steele, Timothy (Regina) Steele of Gautier, MS, Edward (Booney) Steele of Moss Point, MS, daughter, Melvina (Darrell) Allen of Pascagoula, MS, four sisters, Louise Davis of Meridian, MS, Annie Mae Handy, Glady James and Quennie Sanders of Brooklyn, NY; sister-in-law, Arecia Steele of Philadelphia, MS, uncle, W. H. Steele of Philadelphia, MS; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Solomon Temple AME Zion church, Moss Point, MS at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Scranton Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS. Arrangements entrusted to Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS.
