Karen Lynn Steele, 44, of Maple Acres Road in Princeton, W.Va., slipped into the arms of our loving God early in the morning on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Margie Gilbert and her baby boy, Christian. Born October 29, 1970, in Roanoke, she is the daughter of Robert and Polly Gilbert Graeser of Roanoke. Karen is also survived by her loving husband of nine years, Troy Steele of Princeton; her son, Chandler Beavers of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.; sister, Tonya Parks and husband, Steve; brother, Michael Graeser and wife, Dawn; nephew, Grant Graeser; father-in-law, Jay Steele; mother-in-law, Marlene House; two brothers-in-law, Scott Steele and wife, Jennifer and James "Bo" Steele and wife, Dana; and numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins. Karen was a graduate of William Byrd High School in Vinton, and attended Concord University where she made many friends and maintained their friendship to this day. Recently she was employed at Princeton Moose Lodge #1521. She was very active in the Trisomy 18 Awareness Group, raising thousands of dollars over several years. She attended the Faith Baptist Church in Oakvale. For the past 25 years she had been a resident of Princeton after moving here from Roanoke. Karen could light up a room with her smile and could always make people laugh. The loves of her life were Troy and Chandler. Her light will live on in their hearts forever. Karen was Troy's world. Also, she loved the beach, sea shells, the ocean, and her VW Bug "Stella" which she loved cruising around.Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2015 and at East Gate Church of the Nazarene, 2002 East Gate Ave., NE, Roanoke, Va. on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the East Gate Church of the Nazarene in Roanoke, Va. with the Rev. Ben Peyton and the Rev. George Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
