Isabell married Lewis Beeman in 1872 as Isabell Powell. She was a widow by 1880. That year, she lived at the Sheldon poor house with her three children Israel Beeman, age 13; Daniel Beeman, age 11 and Oreana Beeman, age 2 months, whose father was Philo Baker. Isabell's father Daniel Puffer also lived at the poor house, and died there two years later.

Philo was killed "by the cars" (train) in Sheldon, VT in 1893. Isabell married Chester Eldred. In 1900, they lived in Enosburg, VT. Sometime after that, Isabell returned to the poor house. Her death record gives her surname as Eldridge.
