Jacqueline Denise (Jackie) Reed was born May 31, 1958 to the union of Willie Jewel Wilson and Grant Reed, Jr. She was the third of five children, devoted daughter, loving mother, grandmother, gracious sister, and sweet aunt.
Visitation is Friday, April 10, 2015 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Going Home service is at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Jackie graduated from Central High School. She retired from Ethicon after 34 years of employment.
She was the proud parent of two sons, Rodrick and Jerris Reed, and five grandchildren. The joys of her life were her five grandchildren.
On Sunday, April 5, 2015, she entered into eternity.
Jackie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grant and Helena Reed and Della Mae Miller; her brother Jimmie Reed; step-father J.L. Jones; aunts Ester Mae Johnson, Matilda Brown, Ruby Peyton, and Geraldine Ford; uncles Emmett, Joseph, and LeRoy Reed, and Jerimiah Wilson.
Jackie leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Willie Jones and Grant Reed; her sons Rodrick Reed and Jerris (Schuylor) Reed; companion Walter Lewis; sisters Pearl James, Terry (James) Smart, Barbara Anthony, Kyosha Deanda and Shena Reed; brothers David Whorton, James (Kelli) Douglas, Jamil Lucas, and Salathiel Reed; grandchildren Tavenn, Yazchia, Yaniyah, Bryson and Landyn Reed; aunts Alice Johns, Jessie Wilson, and Gloria DeWitt; uncles Jimmie (Onetha) Reed and Charles (LaRue) Reed; and a host of other relatives and friends.
