Haynes, Rebecca J., age 79, passed away August 23, 2016 at the Dayton V.A. hospice. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on January 18, 1937 to the late Dwight and Violet Watson.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James and William Watson; and daughter Mary-Ann Hickman.

She was survived by her beloved husband of 37 years Pery A. Haynes; children Rebecca (Brian) J. Gill, Robert D. Hickman, Barbara (Joe) Monroe, Pery A. (Donna) Haynes II, Christopher (Michelle) Haynes, Angela D. (Dustin) Jones, and many honorary children; sister Theresa (Bob) Guravara; 27 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous family and friends.

Rebecca was an avid swimmer and 1956 Olympic swimming contender. She was a pool manager for AF South Nato base in Naples, Italy for many years. She was a secretary for the IUPUI in Indianapolis handi-cap student services. Rebecca served many years at Wright-Patt AF Base as a secretary for the military services. She traveled extensively and saw many places around the world. Along with all of her accomplishments Rebecca loved and cherished her family more than anything.

A Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday August 27, 2016 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Huber Heights, OH. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Garden, Tipp City, OH. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to the church.
