"Brenda Lou Cornwell Oliver, 71, of Scottsville, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Glenview Health Care Center. She was a daughter of the late Clovis Jack Cornwell and Margaret Brandon Cornwell. She was a member of the Fountain Run Missionary Baptist Church and had been attending Scottsville General Baptist Church. She was a teacher for 27 years in Allen and Monroe Counties. She also enjoyed painting gourds and attending craft fairs.

She is survived by her husband: Clifford Willis Oliver, Sr.; one son: Clifford Willis Oliver, II and his wife Christy; four sisters: Marie Solomon and her husband Dave, Betty Crabtree and her husband Jerry, Becky Pitcock and her husband Larry and Glenith Faye Morrison and her husband Bobby Wayne; one brother: Joe Cornwell and his wife Nancy several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one brother: Delbert Cornwell; two sisters: Lee Hughes Maine and Emma Welch.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Goad Funeral Home in Scottsville with burial in the Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Goad Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cedar Springs Station #2 Fire Department or Scottsville General Baptist Church."
