Harold D. Cornelius, 79 years and 25 days old, passed away on August 23, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.
Harold was born July 29, 1937 in Douglas County Missouri to Clarence and Vera (Greene) Cornelius.
Harold and Rachel “Joan” Perkins were united in marraige in Douglas County Missouri in 1963 and to this union three children were born.
Harold enjoyed farming, camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, playing pitch with his family and watching Kansas City Chiefs Football. He also enjoyed working at the sawmill for more than 45 years.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred Cornelius.
Harold is survived by three children, Cindy Cornelius, Michael and Tammy Cornelius, Bruner, MO, and Steven Cornelius, five sisters and one brother, Wanda and Paul Fleetwood, Ava, MO, Carol Taylor, Ava, MO, Kathy Evans, Ava, MO, Becky Thomas, Miller, MO, Charlotte Jones, Fair Grove, MO, Jackie Cornelius, Ava, MO, one sister-in-law, Terri Lynn Cornelius, Ava, MO, four grandchildren, Amanda, Casey, Ryan and Zachary, four great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ethan, Liam and Elizabeth and a host of Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Harold will be Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10:00A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with cremation to follow. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M. to service time. Burial of cremains will be in the Day Cemetery at a later date. Officiating will be Trampus Taylor. Memorials may be made to the Day Cemetery.
