Jay B. Adams, 90, Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at his home in Jeffersonville. Born May 13, 1926, in Ghent, Ky., he was the son of the late Leonard and Frances Smith Adams.

He was a retired service manager at Furniture Showrooms Co., a member of Faith Assembly Church in Jeffersonville, Teamsters Union Local 89 AFL/CIO in Louisville and Hornickel Post No. 379 American Legion in Elizabeth and was an Army veteran having served in Okinawa during World War II and the Korean War.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty Jean Wiggins; a daughter, Betty Jay Bryant; a brother, James Adams; and two sisters, Mary Morton and Louise Meyers.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Townsend of Jeffersonville and Terri Neill (Brian) of Georgetown; four brothers, Arthur Adams of Carrollton, Ky., Lester Adams of Middletown, Ky., Eddie Adams of Mount Sterling, Mich., and Leonard Adams Jr. of Louisville; two sisters, Rose Landon of Washington and Martha Wilson of Carrollton, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friday, Aug. 12, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 13, after 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth. Officiant: Pastor James
