Agnes was born in Phoenix AZ and grew up in the Loma Prieta lumber camp and at 19 Vine St. in Santa Cruz. Her parents were divorced in 1896 and she was primarily raised by her paternal grandmother, Agnes Cumming Scott and Aunt Maude. Her grandmother had a profound influence on her, particularly with regard to religion and culture.

Agnes married Charles Trumbly on August 22, 1906 at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Santa Cruz. They lived in Oakland and had eight children, although unfortunately three died as infants. Agnes and her aunt, Nancy Maude Scott, purchased property in the small community of Brookdale, in the Santa Cruz mountains in 1925. She was an active member of the Brookdale Women's Club and her family enjoyed summers swimming in the San Lorenzo river and relaxing at their cabin among the redwood trees.

Agnes moved to Carmel in 1951, several years after her husband Charles's death. She was actively involved in the Episcopal church and cultural and classical musical events in the Carmel community, especially the annual Bach Festival. She hosted many military servicemen and musicians at her home including pianist John Browning. She loved trees, flowers and birds and had a wonderful garden with an abundance of fuchsia, roses, and humming birds that she, her family, and many guests enjoyed.

Children:

Charles Anthony Trumbly Jr. (1907-1907)
Robert Louis Trumbly (1908-1958)
