Bruce Cleon Sanders passed away peacefully on August 20, 2016 after a valiant battle with ALS. He was surrounded by his wife, Cheryl Davies Sanders, and his six children: Angela, Brian, Jeff, Hilary, Valerie, and Tara Lynn.
Bruce was born on Christmas Day 1952 as the second child of Gail and Doris Sanders. He graduated from Bonneville High School and diligently served the people of Chile as an LDS missionary. After Bruce and Cheryl were sealed on October 4, 1974 in the Ogden Temple they chose to raise their family in Riverdale, where Bruce was raised.
From a young age Bruce was known to be a hard worker; he was driving airboats on the Great Salt Lake with his dad at the age of ten and never slowed down.
Bruce’s ingenuity revolutionized the brine shrimp industry. As an entrepreneur, much of his life was spent on the Great Salt Lake harvesting brine shrimp and traveling the world to build it into an international industry. In 1988 he was awarded the ‘International Company of the Year’ by the Utah Trade Association.
Bruce retired to his piece of heaven in Porterville, Utah where he lived out the rest of his days building a home and working on his farm. He stayed active in the community by serving on the county council. Bruce and Cheryl served together faithfully in the Arcadia California Mission. Bruce was always concerned about his neighbors and would leave his own projects to help them.
Even after being diagnosed with ALS, Bruce stayed positive and courageous. He loved his family, especially his 17 grandchildren. His greatest focus in later life was teaching his family the gospel through family home evenings, serving others and sharing his unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Morgan Stake Center. Viewings will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the Morgan Stake Center.
