Charles W. Silvey, age eighty-four, died at his home, 6371 Guilford Avenue, Wednesday after a short illness. Born at Castleton, a son of Thomas and Margaret Silvey, he spent his entire life there and in Broad Ripple.
February 28, 1884, he married Miss Mary Frances Pursel, who died ten days ago.
For many years Mr. Silvey was in the grocery business at various sites in Broad Ripple and was widely known throughout the northern part of the county.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. L. W. Brumit; a granddaughter, Mrs. A.O. Koett, and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Herrin and Mrs. Clara Bronson, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Mamie Russell, Castleton.
Funeral services will be held in the Broad Ripple Christian Church and burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
