Mary Christine King Riley was born on July 13, 1932 in Winona, Mississippi to Thurman Lee and Ollie May King. She graduated from Meridian High School in Meridian, MS in May of 1950 and soon after married the love of her life Tommy Gene Riley. They had two daughters, Deborah “Debbie” Kay Riley Fisher, and Rebecca Gail Riley Haire. Following several years of Army life and traveling, Tom and Christine settled in Deer Park, Texas in 1963. They joined Deer Park United Methodist Church and worked many long years raising their daughters and soon grandchildren who would fill up every minute of their free time with school events, baseball games, church activities, and innumerable fun times! The support, love, and guidance that was given to their family was second to only their love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Tom and Christine were a true foundation to raising a Christian family and making sure that everyone had everything they needed to be successful. Through countless hours of helping with homework, baseball practices and games all over town, and late night games of dominoes and board games, their investment in our family never failed. As friends would grow to love Grandma, they soon too began to take on the same loving name and she was soon known to everybody around as, Grandma Riley! Grandma loved to garden, bake and cook meals for anyone who could come visit, and especially just love on anyone that came around. Her reserved, quiet demeanor in some times, was paired with a robust and vibrant character that was second to none when she was excited. It’s though this history of commitment and faithfulness that we are assured of her faith, and that she is finally reunited with Grandpa and her Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven following her unexpected death this past weekend. She is preceded in death by her parents Thurman and Ollie King, husband Tom Riley, brother Rev. Donald King, and youngest grandson Timothy Fisher. Surviving family members include: Daughters Debbie Fisher and husband Gordon of Gravette, AR, Gail Haire and husband Jim of Blanco, TX; Sisters Juanita Mangum of Meridian, MS, and Peggy Waddell of Meridian, MS; Grandsons Eric Haire and wife Lindsey of San Angelo, TX., Andrew Haire and wife Cassie of Houston, TX, and Craig Fisher and wife Kristen of Sulphur Springs, AR; Great Grandchildren Makayla Nicole Haire, Bethany Morgan Haire, Megan Elaine Haire, Aubrey Grace Haire, Aubree LaShell Fisher, Emma Faith Haire, and soon to be born Creed Griffin-Lee Fisher. Multiple other loving members complete the special family and friends that we have all enjoyed and loved throughout her life. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 9 at Deer Park United Methodist Church, 1300 E. 13th Street, Deer Park with Pastor Paul Kethley officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment Houston National Cemetery. Christine will be missed by many, but never forgotten as we continue to grow and live by the love that she showed to everybody she met. We love you!
