Lydia Woland, wife of F. J. Duoden of 433 West Main street, died at her home yesterday morning at 12:20 o'clock from paralysis and pneumonia, aged 85 years, 4 months and 7 days. Mrs. Douden took seriously ill on Monday when she suffered a stroke. She has been ailing for several years. She was the daughter of John and Lydia Woland and was born May 30, 1841, in Armstrong Valley.
March 8, 1860 she was united in marriage to Isaac S. Finton, who preceded her in death April 5, 1881. She was married a second time on February 16, 1899, to Fred J. Douden, who survives with the following children of the first marriage: William H. Finton, of Kinttey, Mont.; Charles N. Finton, of this place, and J. B. Finton, of East Salamanca, N. Y. Four daughters preceded her in death. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. James Hoffman, of South street, this place, and Mrs. Anna Hand, of Shamokin.
Mrs. Douden was a member of the Heilner Woman's Relief Corps of this place.
Her funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock, services being conducted at her home by the Rev. J. C. Brumbach, pastor of Christ Reformed Church, and the Rev. Chas. Slinghoff, a former pastor, now of Richland. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
