Mr. Stephen Kent Reynolds, age 55, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday evening August 21, 2016 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Grayson Co. VA on January 2, 1961 to the late Clyde “Slim” Reynolds and the late Bonnie Jean Edwards Lowe. He was a self-employed Marine Mechanic, and the newest member of Pilot Mountain Community Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gwyn and Bessie Smith Edwards, Hazel Edwards, God grandfather, Lindy Ramey. Surviving are his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 32 years, Rita Bingman Reynolds, of the home; Favorite Son Stephen “Cory” and Jenna Reynolds of Copeland; granddaughter “Papa’s Special Blessing,” Celia Rose Reynolds; brother, Jeff and Glennda Reynolds of Germanton, NC; adopted father, Pa Mick Draughn, of Toast; God grandmother, Margie Ramey of Lowgap; uncle, James “Harrel” Reynolds, of Dobson; aunts, Forrest and Sonny Poole, Clara Jean, Brenda, Judy, Bobby Joe, Jeny, Rebecca, and Zola. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Edmonds Cemetery in Ennice, NC. Rev. Gary Sawyers will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and at other times at the home of his son, Cory Reynolds.
