James Lefler NEWTON - James L. Lefler, 42, of Newton, died at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday (July 3, 2002) at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Taber Funeral Home in Oakland.
He was born April 19, 1960, in Tuscola, a son of James and Josephine Golladay Lefler. Survivors include his mother of Newton; four sisters, Patricia Sanders of Newton, Linda Lewis of Mattoon, Mary Etta Jones of Martinsville and Barbara Lefler of Jewett; one stepbrother, Russell Kirkley of Florida; and special friend, Kathy Thompson of Newton. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
Mr. Lefler was a farm hand.
