Roger Norbert Reicks was born February 18, 1955, in New Hampton, IA, the son of Alex and Luella (Huinker) Reicks. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Lawler and was a 1973 graduate of Turkey Valley High School. He then furthered his education at Iowa State studying agriculture.
On February 4, 1978, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, he married Diane Lensing. To this union four children were born. The couple settled on their farm near Jerico, IA. Farming was not only an occupation but a passion. Farm work was not considered work by Roger, he not only made work fun, he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. He enjoyed tractor pulls, following the Iowa State Cyclones and Sunday drives with Diane. More than anything in this world, Roger loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Diane; his children, Brian (Tonya) Reicks of Lawler, Paula (Casey) Ryan of St. Paul, NE, Barry (Amanda) Reicks of Lawler, Austin (Katelyn) Reicks of Lawler; his grandchildren, Tyler, Gracie, Grady, Reed, Etta, Lucas, Jaila and Amelia; his father, Alex Reicks of Lawler, two sisters, Marla (Mark Mills) Reicks of Ham lake, MN, Melany Reicks of Little Canada, MN; five brothers, Ronald (Julie) Reicks, Richard Reicks, Ralph (Missy) Reicks, Rene (Cynthia) Reicks, Rory Reicks, all of Lawler; many nieces and nephews; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Norma Lensing of Protivin; two brothers-in-law, Dave (Kathy) Lensing of Waukon, IA, Mike and Theresa Lensing of Protivin; one sister-in-law, Mary (Rich) Dreckman of Waukon.
