LEBANON -- Doris Rose (Grosenick) Braunschweig, age 91, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, 30 November 2015.
Doris Rose Grosenick was born on 12 November 1924, to Henry and Mary (nee Baumann) Grosenick. She was the younger of two daughters.
Doris married Wilmer C. Braunschweig on 10 June 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon. Wilmer preceded her in death in 1996. They were blessed with two children. She and her husband farmed in the town of Lebanon for over 35 years. Doris had been employed at Watertown Memorial Hospital in the dietary department for 17 years.
Doris loved gardening, crocheting and embroidery, and treasured the projects she completed. She enjoyed cooking and baking, taking her famous schaum tortes to many events. Doris enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing sheepshead and sharing wonderful memories of the past.
She is survived by her children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Grosenick; husband, Wilmer as well as sister, Ada Braunschweig.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon with the Rev. David Phillips officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown and at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Lebanon. If desired, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marquardt Health Center or the charity of one's choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family.
