Born June 9, 1922, in Pen Argyl, PA, Earl was a son of the late Raymond C. and Nellie M. (Smale) Young. His wife of 53 years, Carolyn (Swartz) Young, died June 9, 1999.
Earl graduated from Pen Argyl High School, Class of 1940, and Churchman's Business College. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Earl retired from Acopian in 1987. Previously he was employed by Easton Laundry as a route salesman and then a supervisor.
He enjoyed walking his dog, Easton football, swimming at Meuser pool and trips to Wildwood.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Easton. He was also a member of the Ambassador's Club and Savvy Seniors of Easton.
Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie Kashmer of Hackettstown, NJ, and her companion, Lynn Leauber of Effort, PA, and Carol Malia of Allentown; a grandson, Brian Malia and his wife, Alison, of Harrisburg, PA; and a great-grandson, Owen Malia.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Wintermute, and a grandson, Michael Malia.
Services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
