2012 obituary. WINDHAM -- Raymond Forest Dingley Sawyer, the son of Lottie Dingley was born November 11, 1932 in Bangor. Adopted by Leah Higgins and George Merrill Sawyer after his mother passed away. After serving the in Korean War as an Army Communications Corporal, Raymond moved to Yarmouth and married Nancy Carolyn Ring. They had five sons. Raymond was a Boy Scout Leader. They ran a working family farm, Smiths General Store and began his successful construction company; Raymond F. D. Sawyer and Sons in 1966, building many homes in Maine. His Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 31 at 1 p.m. at Riverside cemetery off Lafayette St. in Yarmouth.
