LONE OAK – Eudale Akins, 40, of 1004 Travis St., Plainview died at home about 1 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon in Lone Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Hopkins of Lone Oak and Rev. Richard Jackson of Sulphur Springs officiating. Interment in Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville under direction of Elliott Funeral Home of Lone Oak.
Born July 20, 1926 in Perryville, Arkansas he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William (Bill) Akins. He moved to Lone Oak as a young man. He worked in Sulphur Springs, and moved to Plainview in Sept. of 1965 where he was manager of the Federal Land Bank.
He was a member of the Lone Oak Masonic Lodge and Plainview Baptist Church. He married Bobbie Lou Romine June 4, 1948 in Bonham, Texas and she survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Pamela, Patricia, Chris and Cinddy (sic); one son, Hal, all of the home; one sister, Mrs. Jerald Snaper and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Akins of Lone Oak.
