Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Jerry Lawson Swan, Sr., devoted husband and father, age 85, of Lilburn, GA formally of Wrens who passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016.
Services will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with Mrs. Susan Rumble officiating. A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2016 in the Ways Baptist Church Cemetery, Stellaville, GA.
Born in Springfield, TN, raised in Wrens, GA. Jerry graduated from University of Georgia in Accounting and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. He spent his 35 year career as an accountant for the Federal Government with GAO, Department of Energy and the Department of Agriculture. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Clarkston Masonic Lodge #492 F&AM, the Yaarab Shrine Temple Atlanta and the First Baptist Church of Lilburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lawson and Grace (Murphey) Swan; son, Jerry Swan, Jr. and his brother, Bob Swan. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat Swan of Lilburn, GA; children, Shannon Swan (Matthew) Sapp of Shalimar, FL, Dr. Deanne (Phill) Swan of Springfield, VA and Bryan Swan of Lilburn, GA; sisters, Norma Cartee of Olive Hill, KY and Ann (Ray) Wren of Evans, GA; brother Dick (Cheryl) Swan of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Taylor Sapp and Linus Gagné and a 21 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winn Dixie Hope Lodge for Cancer, 1552 Shoup Court, Decatur, GA 30033.
