2 Timothy 4:7 says, “ I have fought the good fight, I have won the race, I have kept the faith.” Billie Brooks was a true example of this scripture. She was born on July 31, 1944 to the union of Johnny Ray and Hazel Womack. She married the love of her life on November 23, 1962. She was a true example of a hard worker having worked many years as a beautician and running a mowing business. She loved God and her family with all she had and if you knew her, you were blessed as her friend. She led her family by example and will be missed greatly. She gained her wings on August 17, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was preceded in death her parents; sisters: Wanda Wheeler and Elizabeth Johnson; and brothers: John Edward and Donald Ray Womack.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Larry Travis Brooks; son: Mike Brooks and wife, Tina of Hockley, TX; and daughter: Kim Taylor and husband, Donald (Fruit) of Olla, LA; seven grandchildren: Ashley Phillips and husband Justin, Amanda Dualney and husband Justin, Krystle Thompson and husband Jared, Kyle Berry, Kody Brooks and wife Bethany, Ciera Haynes and husband Chadric, and Angela Taylor and boyfriend, Brandon; fifteen great-grandchildren: Logan, Landon, Lance and Reed Phillips, Mason and Tanner Dulaney, Briar, Rayleigh, Jesse, and Kase Thompson, Levi, Anna Claire, and Noah Brooks, Chandler Hayes, and Maliyah Smith; And a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Justin Phillips, Jared Thompson, Justin Dulaney, Kyle Berry, Kody Brooks, Logan Phillips, Landon Phillips, Lance Phillips, Charles Cagle, and Jimbo Emmons.

Honorary Pallbearers are Donald Wayne Womack, Tracy Wheeler, George Mullenix, James Cagle, Charles Meador, Dr. Pankaj Shroff, Kevin Tolar, Dale Carter, Keith Carter, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Life Church in Columbia with Bro. Dean Love and Bro. Don Boyette officiating. Justin Phillips will lead the introduction. Interment will follow at Hebert Cemetery.Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM at the church.
