Dale C. Newman, 82, died Friday, January 12, 2007, at Gettysburg Lutheran Home. He was the husband of Helen Mauss Newman. He was born February 7, 1924, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Paul and Alma Sowers Newman. Mr. Newman was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He farmed the Eisenhower property on the Emmitsburg Road for many years. He was a fruit farmer in Cumberland County before retiring in 1988. He was a former member of the East Berlin VFW.
He is also survived by two daughters, Nancy R. Newman and husband, Craig Meeson of Gettysburg, and Jan L. Newman of Biglerville; two grandchildren, Hannah Meeson and Curtis Meeson; four sisters, Jean Baldwin of York Springs, Elise Sterner of Biglerville, Martha Nary of York, and Winifred Weikert of Fairfield; a brother, Herbert Newman of Biglerville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Following Funeral services with the Rev. Eugene Moore officiating, interment will be in Flohrs Cemetery, Cashtown.
