OKLAHOMA CITY- Services for Gerald Wayne Thurman, 60, Oklahoma City, are 2 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Bob Hatcher and Roger Gray officiating. Burial follows at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Thurman died Feb. 20, 2001, at Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 14, 1941, at Pickett-Center to Paul Thurman and Pauline Reed. He was raised by his stepfather, Norrell Vandergriff.
He lived in this area all his life. He attended grade school at Latta. He graduated from Vanoss High School in 1960. He attended East Central University. He was a carpenter. He was formerly employed with Todd Construction. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Ada.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Thurman, Manila, Ark., Scott Thurman, Rogers, Ark., and Jason Thurman, Edmond; two brothers, Tommy Thurman, Wynnewood, and Billy Thurman, Minco; two sisters, Marie McKee, Tulsa, and Wanda Wilson, Roff; his stepmother and stepfather, Marjorie and Norrell Vandegriff, Ada; and two grandchildren.
Bearers are Robert Hightower, Howard Briggs, Wylie Shurmard, Ronnie Rowe, Harrell Pennington and Randall Shumard.
