Lewis R. of Carpenter, of Clare, formerly of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away August 12, 2016 at 88 years of age. Loving husband of Jacqueline Kettula for 65 years; dear father of . . . , the late David (Vicki) Carpenter; brother to the late Robert Carpenter; grandfather of four; great grandfather of three.
Lew was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and participated in the occupation of China. He retired from G. M. Truck and Coach in 1986 after 34 years of service. Interment with Military Honors will be 11 a.m. August 19, 2016 at Greats Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Family and friends will gather in remembrance from 1 to 3 p.m. at American Legion Chief Pontiac Post 377, 4819 Mary Sue, Clarkston.
