Born in Bulloch County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James Hampton Bryant and Ethel Lanier Bryant. Mrs. Foster was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was a sales clerk for Morris Levy for 10 years, Desbouillon's for 16 years, and Levy Jewelers for 10 years.
Mrs. Foster was a volunteer for the United Way and AARP.
She was a member of the Garden Study Club and won numerous blue ribbons for her floral arrangements.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Nelson Rudolph "Rudy" Bowers, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Mimps Ratliff Bowers of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren, Debra Ann Bowers, Diana Bowers Lewis, Nelson R. Bowers III and Kandy Bowers Logue, all of Savannah, Georgia, and Roxanne Elise Richards of Tampa, Florida; eight great-grandchildren, and one sister, Cora Beth Miller of Rockledge, Georgia.
Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in Immanuel Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend Larry M. Williams.
Interment will be at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon in Bowers Family Cemetery near Hampton, South Carolina, conducted by The Reverend William M. Brock.
