Norma Eunice Wade Griffin “Boots” entered eternal life Aug. 18, 2016. She was born in Tuscumbia on Feb. 16, 1938 to her late parents, Abner Floyd Wade and Willie Hazel Eckles Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Griffin; son, Manuel Neal Saavedra; and two brothers, Curtis Alvin Wade and Willie “Sonny” Floyd Wade.
Survivors include her sons, Tony Saavedra, North Carolina, Tommy Griffin, Nevada and Paul Griffin, Florence; daughters, Linda Saavedra, Angela Mayfield and husband, Donnie, Muscle Shoals, Sue Rodriques and husband, Chris, Leighton, Terri Yancey and husband, Tom, Tennessee, Alice Riddle and husband, Jay, Tuscumbia; one sister, Linda Holt and one brother, Marshall Wade; special cousin, Toggie Eckles Thompson, Tuscumbia; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. She will be given special Military Honors for her service.
