Born in East Hempfield Township, he was a son of the late John B.and Lizzie E. Bear Mumma. He was a member at Bossler’s Mennonite Church, Elizabethtown R1. He was the husband of the late Lizzie Stern Mumma, who died in 1948.
Surviving are three daughters: Jean, wife of Harold Hostetter, Columbia R1; Anne, wife of Ernest Lantz, Coatesville R3; and Pauline,
wife of Vernice Begly, Tiskilwa, Ill.; three sons: John S, Landisville; Thomas S., Elizabethtown R1; and Clay S., Jr., Mount Joy R1; 23 grandchildren; five great-grand-
children; and a sister, Mrs. Edna Greider, Saltillo.
