Monica E. Martin, 61, of Kendallville died Friday, August 19, 2016 in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

She was a 1973 graduate of East Noble High School.

Ms. Martin had worked for 18 years at Courier, now RR Donnelly, in Kendallville.

Monica was passionate about football, and especially loved the Denver Broncos. She was also a collector of panda bears. Above all else she had a big heart and dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, she was so excited when she became a grandmother. She will also be remembered for her smile, laughter, and positive attitude.

She was born July 19, 1955 in Kendallville to Alfred E. and Lois Marie (Myers) Simmons.

Surviving are two daughters, Carijane (Joshua Dokes) Williams of Indianapolis and Calan Martin of Auburn; a son, Cody (Karrie) Martin of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Joshua, Channing, and a granddaughter due in September; three sisters, Marge (Carl) Weber, Kelly (Bill) Walkup, and Julie (Bill) Yates all of Kendallville; two brothers, Mike (Ann Marie Waldron) Simmons of Indianapolis and Kim (Annette) Simmons of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Elda Simmons; a sister, Michele Elaine Simmons; a nephew, Clay Helmkamp; a niece Misty Simmons; and her best friend, Vanita Agee.

A celebration of life service will be Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Calling is Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
