George Burton Cooley, Sr., 66, died November 8, 1993, in Twin County Community Hospital. He was born November 28, 1926, to Alva Edison and Mary Kate McGlothlin Cooley. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Pearl Wilson Cooley, a son and daughter-in-law, George B. Jr. and Lisa Cooley of Hillsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Kenneth Bernatz of Hillsville; a brother and sister-in-law, Raleigh and Marguerite Cooley of Hillsville; two grandsons. Funeral will be Thursday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the Hillsville Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. James Carpenter. Burial will follow in the North End Cemetery.
