Born November 5, 1918 in Seattle, Washington, a daughter of the late Eric and Anna (Erickson) Batten, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Marcus and Anna Batten.
Mrs. Smeltzer is survived by three sons, James R. Logan of York, Edward H. Logan of Lady Lake, Fla. and Kenneth D. Smeltzer of East Berlin; a daughter, Anita M. Hoffmaster of York; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, August 4th at Mount Rose Cemetery, with Rev. Robert B. Harnish, officiating.
