Services for Stephen H. Michael
51, of Chicago, formerly of Elgin, will begin at9:30 a.m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
The Rev. Richard M. Russo will officiate.
Born Feb. 18, 1947, in Elgin, to W. Hawley and Barbara (Nee Copley) Michael, he died Thursday, June 25, 1998, in Chicago. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Michael was a graduate of Elgin High School and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a charter member of the South Elgin VFW Post, a member of VFW Post #198 of Chicago, and a past commander of District One from 1996 to 1997. He was also very active with the Illinois Railway Museum in Union.
Survivors include his daughter; parents, W. Hawley and Barbara Michael of Elgin; brother; and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be madeto the Chicago House and Social Services Agency, 1925 N. Clybourn Ave., Suite #401, Chicago, IL 60614.
