PAWLEYS ISLAND -- The funeral for Dwayne Carlos Wright was Tuesday at St. John AME Church in Pawleys Island. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wright, 23, died July 2, 1997, after injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Pawleys Island.

He was born Feb. 14, 1974, in Georgetown, a son of Martha W. Rutledge of Pawleys Island and Douglas Green of Jamaica-Queens, N.Y.

Mr. Wright was a 1994 graduate of Waccamaw High School and an auto mechanic. He was a member of St. John AME church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a son, Douvanon Phillips of Murrells Inlet; a daughter, Jaida Brown of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Stephanie Wright of Georgetown and Linda Wright of Pawleys Island; two brothers, Jimmy Wright and Matthew Wright, both of Pawleys Island; his maternal grandmother, Rosa Wright of Pawleys Island; a foster sister, Latoya Satterwhite; and a special friend, Patricee Phillips of Murrells Inlet.
