Marvin B. Walton, 87 of Houston, Texas, passed away August 12, 2016.
He was born in George West, Texas on April 9. 1929 to Homer and Ethel Walton. He was married to Mary L. Walton for 60 years. Marvin B. had a career in bridge construction, aircraft and engine mechanic, electrical engineer designing experiments for NASA / Johnson Space Center.
He worked for Bridge Construction Cr., Alamo Works, U.S. Air Force, Chance Vought, General Dynamics, Lockheed at NASA/ Johnson Space Center, Lockheed Martin Corporation. He was a member of Texas Board of Professional Engineers, Houston Mopar connection club, Lockheed Martin Retires Association. He had a passion for sports, working for NASA/ Johnson Space Center, coaching youth sports, helping at church, bible studying, bowling, RV traveling, car club, dancing and skiing.
Marvin B. was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Walton and Ethel Walton; siblings, Edgar Walton, Ruby Walton, Bascom Walton, Ruth Walton, Jack Walton, Jane Walton, Orville Walton, Woodrow Walton, Ethel Lura Walton.
He is survived by wife, Mary L. Walton; children, Laurie Garica, Marvin H. Walton and wife Vanessa; grandchildren, Elena Garcia, Elizabeth Garcia, Jacquelyn Walton, Sloane Walton; brother, Nathan Walton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 16335 El Camino Real, Houston, TX 77062, with graveside to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
