Mr. Herbert Roberts Jr. of Plywood Street in Hampton died Sunday afternoon at his residence, after an extended illness.
Mr. Roberts was born in Ridgeland, May 29, 1945 a son of the late Hoyt and Vena Belger Chassereau. He had retired as an Insurance Agent after 15 years, and was the owner operator of Roberts Accounting and Tax Service in Hampton. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Gideons, where he served as President, and a member of the Spirit of Life Ministries Church in Varnville.
Mr. Roberts was predeceased by a son: Jimmy Moseley.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Wednesday in the Spirit of Life Ministries Church, located in Frog Hollow, in the Varnville community. Burial will follow in the Bowers Cemetery, conducted by Rev. David Schaffer and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the church prior to services Wednesday.
