Rosa Lee Burke, 77, of New Kensington, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, in Platinum Ridge Center, Brackenridge. She was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Sulligent, Ala., a daughter of the late Webster and Alma Asie Lee Johnson Hollis. Rosa was a graduate of Ken High School in 1958. She was employed for Paragon Plastics for 20 years, retiring in 2005. Rose enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, traveling, praise and worship; she was a talented artist and cherished time spent with family and friends. She was a member of Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church, New Kensington, where she was an usher on the usher board. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Burke; brother, Alonzo Hollis; granddaughter, Celeste Rosa Lee Burke; and nephew, Terry Hollis. She is survived by her children, Anthony (Deborah) Burke, of Maryland, Marcel Burke, of Maryland, Kenneth Burke, of Maryland, and Angela Yeager-Turner, of Florida; siblings, Webster (Carolyn) Hollis, of New York, Alma (Charles) Merriwether, of Maryland, Joseph (Mary) Hollis, of Pennsylvania, Billie Jayne (Dale) Shaw, of Pennsylvania, and John R. (Peggy) Hollis, of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Clinton Jake M. Carter, Brionna Diane, Joshua Anthony and Daniel E. Burke, Candyce Gene and Cheryce Tiffany Burke, Olivia Faith and Jamey LeeAnn Yeager; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, a service oriented funeral home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church, 504 8th St., New Kensington, with the Rev. Dr. Michel Nickols officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
