A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Rev. Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; with a recitation of the Holy Rosary in the chapel at 6:00 p.m.

Clara LaCaze Jones, 87 of Alexandria, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, in her residence.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Jones; her parents Felix and Carline DeLacerda LaCaze; her brothers, Gifford “Dee” LaCaze and Harold LaCaze; and her sisters, Lorene “Sissy” Brossett, Evelyn LaCaze DeLacerda and Elouise Hall.

Clara (or Polly as she was known to family) was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a homemaker first, and then later in life was employed by and retired from Central Louisiana State Hospital (Mimeograph Department). She was an avid gardener. Clara was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her companion, Jerry Moreau; her children, Brenda Jones Hardee, John D. Jones (Kerry), and Connie Jones Methvin (James); her beloved grandchildren, Vicki Hardee Sullivan (Kirk), Amy Hardee Newell, Janna Hardee, Brian Jones, Allisha Jones Bordelon (Shay), Denise Methvin White (Dustin) and Ana Methvin Butler (Jimmy); her great grandchildren, Matthew Hardee, Kaitlin Spurlock, Maura Sullivan, Osten Sullivan, Jacob Newell, Jeremiah Newell, David Bordelon, Hannah Bordelon, and Grace Bordelon, Makayla Methvin, Christopher Cohea, Haley Cohea, Breana Butler; and her great- great grandchildren, Skylor Crowe and Beckett Crowe.

She also leaves behind two brothers, David LaCaze and Carroll LaCaze; two sisters, Thelma Coutee and Linda McCain; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Brian Jones, Mike Coutee, Jacob Newell, Jeremiah Newell, Christopher Cohea, and Dustin Eller.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital a 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to St. Mary’s Residential Training School at P.O. Drawer 7768, Alexandria, LA 71306.
