She was born November 16, 1926 in Franklin County to the late Warner Norfleet Ayscue and Jennie Hicks Ayscue.
She retired as a clerk from Southern Bell with 37 ½ years of service.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, 3328 Forestville Road, Raleigh, 27616.
Surviving: sons: Donald R. Phillips and Monty N. Phillips, both of Raleigh; grandchildren: Brent Phillips, Shane Phillips, Jessica Phillips, and Jonathon Hurt; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husbands: Mack Phillips and Alton E. Watkins; siblings: Louise Thompson, Thurston Ayscue, Leland Ayscue, and Sarah Medlin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund.
